Who We Are and Why Budget Management Matters

Started in 2018, we help Australian businesses stop guessing about their finances. Most small companies don't fail because of bad products—they run out of cash because budgeting felt too complicated or got ignored until it was too late.

See How We Work

Seven Years of Learning What Actually Works

We didn't start out as financial experts. Our founder, Lillian Voss, ran a catering business that nearly collapsed in 2017 because she couldn't track where money went each month.

After three years of spreadsheet chaos and almost losing everything, she partnered with accountant Desmond Finch to build something simpler. Not fancy software that requires a finance degree—just practical tools that show you where your money goes and when trouble's coming.

By 2021, we'd helped 200 businesses in Canberra avoid the same mistakes. Now we work with companies across Australia, and honestly? The problems are usually the same. People overcomplicate things or avoid looking at numbers altogether. We focus on making budget management feel less like homework and more like having a useful map.

What Drives Our Work Every Day

Real Clarity

We strip out the jargon and confusing metrics. You should understand your budget well enough to explain it to someone else in five minutes. If our reports need a translator, we've failed.

Honest Conversations

When your spending pattern looks risky, we say so directly. Sugar-coating financial problems has never helped anyone. We'd rather have an awkward conversation in March than watch you scramble in November.

Sustainable Growth

Quick wins matter, but we're more interested in building habits that last. A business that survives ten years beats one that has three amazing months and then implodes. Boring consistency usually wins.

How We Actually Help Businesses Manage Budgets

1

Reality Check Session

We look at your last six months of spending and revenue. Not judging—just figuring out where money actually goes versus where you think it goes. This gap is usually revealing.

2

Build Your Core Budget

We create a monthly plan based on your real patterns, not industry averages. Your business isn't average, so cookie-cutter templates don't work. This takes about two weeks to get right.

3

Monthly Reviews

Every four weeks, we compare what happened to what you planned. These calls usually last thirty minutes. We adjust the budget when reality changes—flexibility matters more than perfection.

4

Teach You to Self-Manage

After six months, most clients handle day-to-day tracking themselves. We stay available for quarterly check-ins or when big decisions come up. Independence is the goal.
